I have taught Biology, Honors Biology, AP Biology, Field Biology, and Zoology for the last nineteen years at Blue Valley Northwest High School, in Overland Park, Kansas.
I am a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Kansas. I attended the University of Kansas, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science and Biology Education. After graduating from KU, I did my student teaching at Blue Valley High School and Harmony Middle School, both in the Blue Valley School District. Upon completing my student teaching, I was hired to teach Biology at BVNW and have worked here ever since. I have since earned my Masters of Science Education from KU.
While attending KU, I married Kristy, my high school sweetheart. Kristy is a nurse practitioner who works at a children’s hospital in the Kansas City area. We have two girls, Avery (17) and Rylan (14), and two dogs named Sophie and Charlie.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, singing, and playing the guitar. I also like computers and spend quite a bit of time designing websites for both professional and personal use.
